The controversy began when Kohli’s official Instagram account liked a photo of actress Avneet Kaur, which he later clarified as an unintentional action caused by an algorithm glitch.

Vaidya took to Instagram to mock Kohli’s explanation, suggesting that if the algorithm could like photos on someone’s behalf, it might also block people. The situation intensified when Vaidya revealed that the trolling extended to his family, with his wife and sister receiving abusive messages. Expressing his frustration, he posted on Instagram, stating, “Virat Kohli’s fans are even bigger jokers than Virat!” and further referred to them as “2 kaudi ke jokers” (worthless jokers).

Despite the backlash, Vaidya maintained his stance, emphasizing that his initial comments were meant in jest. He also clarified that while he respects Kohli as a cricketer, he does not endorse his behavior off the field.
