Riddhi Dogra’S Journey From TV Daily Soaps to Nuanced OTT Roles
Riddhi made her mark early with TV shows like Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?, where her portrayal of layered, emotionally complex women brought her acclaim. But it was her OTT leap with The Married Woman and Badtameez Dil that gave her the space to explore bolder, more modern narratives.
“The OTT space gave me freedom as a performer. You’re not boxed by TRPs — you’re there to tell stories, not just maintain drama,” she shared.
Working with Ekta Kapoor & Balaji Telefilms
Having worked on multiple projects under Balaji, Riddhi credits Ekta Kapoor for backing scripts that center on women’s voices.
“Ekta knows how to create impact through characters. She gave me roles that didn’t just exist — they made a statement.”
On Choosing the Right People Over Just Big Projects
One of Riddhi’s most powerful lines in the interview:
“I work only with those who want to work for me.”
For her, it’s not about fame or money alone — it’s about artistic respect. Whether it’s a web series or a feature film, she prefers working with people who are invested in her presence as much as she is in the project.
On Jawan and Her SRK Moment
While Riddhi played a prosthetics-heavy, aged character in Jawan, it was her time on set with Shah Rukh Khan that became a career highlight.
“I was under layers of prosthetics, but getting to share the frame with Shah Rukh sir was magical,” she said with a smile. “Now I just wish to do a film with him again — this time, as myself.”
What’s Next for Riddhi?
Riddhi is gearing up for her upcoming psychological thriller Kull, and hinted at another big project in early development — this time with a new creative team that she feels aligned with “emotionally and artistically.”
